Ice Baths
To get the health benefits, you'll need to stay in cold water below 15°C for three to eight minutes. Cold water therapy works best with the right combination of time and temperature. Each individual is different and some people can tolerate lower temperatures.
Saunas
We recommend sessions to be 15-30 minutes. If you're a regular sauna user, you may be able to stay longer. It is unlikely that you'll experience more significant health benefits by staying inside for longer as your body will have cleared out the majority of harmful toxins inside the body through sweating within the first 10-15 minutes.
Ice Baths
We recommend starting out with your ice bath tub temperature at around 15°C if it's your first time, and then slowly lowering the temperature and duration for each session. That way your body will get acclimatised to the cold.
Saunas
The Sauna Pod heats up to 85°C, unlike portable steam saunas that only reach about 45°C. We recommend increasing the temperature gradually so you can acclimatise to the heat.
We recommend adding 5–10 kg of ice to the Ice Pod per session.
The amount of ice needed depends on your tap water temperature and how cold you’d like it to be; if you live in colder climates, adding ice may not even be necessary.
Since the Pod is insulated, it will keep the water cold for multiple days, and you may therefore not have to add as much ice after the first time.
We recommend getting a Pod Chiller so that you can control your water temperature down to 5 °C and remove the hassle and cost of buying ice.
The Ice Pod comes with a tap at the bottom for draining. To empty it, connect a standard garden hose, or simply open the tap depending on where the Pod is set up.
The Ice Pod
To keep the water clean for long periods of time, we recommend using 500 g to 1 kg of sea salt. You can keep the water in the pod for three to four weeks when using salt.
If you are not using any salt, we recommend cleaning the pod every three to five ice bath sessions.
The Sauna Pod
The Sauna Pod features a PVC floor material that is easy to wipe clean, ensuring effortless maintenance. The chair is constructed from a durable fabric that is also designed for easy cleaning.
Additionally, the cotton fabric of the sauna itself is treated with a wax coating, making it liquid-repellent. This prevents the absorption of sweat and humidity, allowing for simple wipe-down cleaning.
We advise wiping down your Sauna Pod after each use to avoid a build-up of dirt and sweat.
We also recommend leaving the compartment door open after use so that the unit receives proper ventilation.
Yes! Both Pods are built to be weather and UV resistant, so you can set them up indoors or outdoors with no problem.
You can even keep the Ice Pod outside in sub-zero temperatures. The insulation layer slows down the freezing process, but we still recommend giving the water a quick stir once a day to stop it from freezing completely solid.
